In Hong Kong, it is rare for streets to be named after schools, but the intersection of La Salle Road and College Road where La Salle College is located is a testament to the school's long history. La Salle College is one of the top traditional schools in Hong Kong. Established in 1932, the school has always promoted diversified education, producing many talented individuals in both academics and sports. Its rich history spans over half a century, and the "La Salle spirit" established during that time has become the foundation for student success. Despite being a subsidized school, La Salle College can compete with prestigious Direct Subsidy Scheme schools, which is truly remarkable.

The story of La Salle College began in 1917 when a branch school was established by the priests of St. Joseph's College on Caine Road. The demand for education quickly outstripped supply, so Brother Aimar Sauron purchased 10 acres of land on Boundary Street for HKD 120,000 to build a school. On January 6, 1932, La Salle College was officially established, and by 1939, the number of students had reached 1,060. During World War II, the school building was requisitioned for military prisons and hospitals. In 1956, the school regained possession of the building and opened La Salle Primary School the following year. In 1978, due to insufficient space, the school planned to rebuild. To raise funds, the school sold part of its land to Cheung Kong Holdings, which became the current residential area of Piccadilly Mansion. The new school building was completed in 1982 and has been in use ever since. Although it occupies less land, its facilities are more complete. Before demolishing the old school building, the school preserved many of its historical artifacts as important witnesses to its history.

La Salle College is a breeding ground for top scholars in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE). Over the years, it has produced countless students who received eight, nine or ten distinctions. The first-ever ten-distinction student in the arts stream also came from La Salle College. In 2003, a record-breaking 501 A grades were achieved in a single year's HKDSE examination, which no other school has been able to surpass to this day. In 2010, the number of top university students produced by La Salle College was also the highest in Hong Kong. Its students have won numerous awards in academics, sports and culture, making them well-rounded individuals. When asked about the secret to cultivating elite students at La Salle College, Brother Steve Hogan, the principal, attributed it to the "La Salle spirit" established over the past eighty years. When a Form One student enters La Salle College, he or she can feel the atmosphere of the school: students at all levels are motivated and strive for excellence as if nothing is impossible. Younger students are inspired by their confident and united senior schoolmates. Brother Steve said that while some schools focus on academic performance or sports achievements, La Salle College emphasizes "whole-person development," balancing academic study with sports, culture, personal development and more. In terms of academics, the school has a strong academic atmosphere and emphasizes language development. Some classes from Form One to Form Three also teach French. The first twenty minutes of each day are dedicated to reading to promote a reading culture. Brother Steve said that La Salle College is not afraid of the "3+3+4" academic structure because teachers have been researching and preparing for the new senior secondary curriculum for several years before its implementation. Students take Chinese, English and Mathematics as well as Liberal Studies and three elective subjects. Some students even take four elective subjects, reaching the maximum limit for Diploma of Secondary Education Examination.

La Salle College students often win awards in inter-school sports competitions and inter-school cultural competitions. They have won numerous awards in various competitions such as inter-school Chinese debate competitions, Hong Kong Computer Olympiad competitions, inter-school drama festivals, and inter-school music festivals. They also excel in sports competitions such as football and basketball. In 2011, La Salle College's football team won the Division 1A championship in the Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Inter-School Competition, defeating strong teams such as St. Joseph's College, Diocesan Boys' School and Cheung Chuk Shan College for two consecutive years. The basketball team also achieved excellent results in the Elite Inter-School Basketball Competition in Hong Kong, defeating schools such as Ying Wa College and Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School to win the Kowloon District Division 1A championship.

Currently, several IPISchool students at La Salle College in Hong Kong are using IPISCHOOL for math learning with good results.
